If you thought your high school reunion was dramatic, you need to watch Prime Video’s addictive Class of ’07.

No matter how dramatic your own high school reunion was, Prime Video's addictive new comedy series Class of ’07 will definitely have you rethinking it.

The truth is, you'd be hard-pressed to find a single person walking this earth who didn't have some sort of complicated feelings around the mere thought of reuniting with their past schoolmates.

Maybe you worried that your adult life didn't seem impressive enough, or that the 'till death do we part chemistry you shared with your teenage best friends just hasn't stood the test of time.

Or maybe you're terrified of coming face to face with your high school bully. Perhaps you've grown and changed in a positive way since leaving school, but you worry that in the minds of your peers, you're still that same old girl from high school.

Take a look at the trailer for Class of '07 on Prime Video. Just a head's up, it gets sweary! Post continues below.

This hilarious new series, Class of ’07 takes these relatable feelings and blows them out into a very unexpected storyline, one filled with emotion, humour... and a very inconvenient apocalypse.

Created, written, and directed by Kacie Anning (Prime Video’s Upload), Class of ’07 kicks off with Zoe (played by American Gods star Emily Browning) living out a reality TV nightmare and effectively going off the grid for the next six months when her antics are blasted across Australian screens.

An unexpected event then forces her to leave the solitary life she's built and make a surprise appearance at her high school reunion, where her tipsy classmates are shocked to see her.

Among them are Saskia (Smile star Caitlin Stasey), a former high school bully who has seemingly turned over a new leaf and become a successful entrepreneur, and Amelia (played by former Home and Away star Megan Smart) who mysteriously disappeared during their senior year of school.

For a while they giddily celebrate their ten-year reunion in a way that only girls who shared their teenage years can: with choreographed dancers and a few cruel nicknames that come back to life when things take a turn for the worst.

An apocalyptic tidal wave hits and demolishes everything in its path, leaving nothing but the island peak of the girl's high school campus to survive on.

With nothing but water as far as the eye can see around them, no contact with the outside world, and a dwindling food supply to worry about, the women only have each other to rely on to survive.

If only they can get past a few pesky old high school gripes, of course.

The magic of Class of ’07 is how cleverly it walks the line between comedy and drama.

The series is packed with emotional moments between the characters, as they grapple with the scars high school left them and share the pain they've gone through as adults.

Secrets are uncovered, new friendships are formed and old hurts are mended as friends find their way back to each other.

The writing of Class of ’07 also beautifully delves into the special way women interact, one moment they can be locked in a yelling match so brutal you'll want to look away, and the next moment they'll be in tears of laughter, and lifting each other up.

It's a bond anyone who reunites with their high school friends will relate to, with every emotion heightened.

Class of ’07 also delivers on the laughs, thanks to a wickedly funny script and a cast blessed with perfect comedic timing.

Even in an apocalypse, the women begin to regress back into their teenage selves.

This leads to some sharp banter between the characters, as the worst stories from their high school days rear their ugly heads. Some brilliant moments of physical comedy also play out across the screen, as the women fight over survival supplies... and who gets the best dorm room, of course.

The on-screen chemistry between leading ladies Emily Browning, Caitlin Stasey, and Megan Smart is so strong that you'll find yourself leaning into the screen to see how their complicated dynamic plays out as the world seemingly comes to an end.

With the many new TV shows filling our screens each month, it's sometimes hard to find a truly original concept, but Class of ’07 has carved out a storytelling path all of its own.

It's very much Lord of the Flies meets Mean Girls, and the cast of memorable supporting characters truly mirrors all the highly unique mix of people during the high school experience.

As much as it is laugh-out-loud funny, Class of ’07 also feels like a high stakes TV watching experience (thanks to that pesky apocalypse) and I practically dove onto my remote control to start the next episode after the premiere leaves you on a cliff hanger.

Class of ’07 is a truly hilarious and nostalgic watch that might just make you want to message your old high school friends.

After you watch the entire series, of course.

Class of ‘07 will launch exclusively on Prime Video on March 17. All eight episodes will drop at once.
