As so many mothers recall, falling pregnant is instinctual more than anything. Prior to purchasing an at home pregnancy test, many women say they have a ‘hunch’ they’re pregnant.
For Jennifer Garner, her sign came in the form of simply a feeling.
The 46-year-old actress co-hosted Ellen’s yearly Mother’s Day show on Thursday, exposing all the not so glamorous details of her pregnancy to an audience of pregnant women. Though Garner is now the mother to three children – two-year-old Violet, nine-year-old Seraphina, and six-year-old Samuel – her physician told her she wasn’t pregnant during the early stages of carrying Violet in 2005.
“I woke up that morning and I just knew. I peed on the stick and it was so faint,” Garner shared on The Ellen Show earlier this week.

“I was on my way to work and said, ‘Can I come in and have a proper test?'” Garnered continued.
“He gave me one and he said, ‘I don’t know… you’re not pregnant,’ and I said, ‘I am, I’m telling you I am’.
“So, she’s 12, and I don’t have that doctor anymore but I have her, so I won,” she concluded proudly.
Garner then went on to discuss how each one of her pregnancies made her progressively more nauseous. By her final pregnancy with Samuel, healthy eating was no longer even close to a priority for her.
“Forget it, it was like Happy Meals,” she joked. “It’s just gross. It’s just gross what you do.”
