How to be Victoria Beckham.

By MAMAMIA TEAM

Victoria Beckham is kind of a big deal. The ever evolving pint sized Posh has many titles, including veteran Popstar, mother-of-four, original WAG and fashion heavyweight. Caring for her kids in 6-inch heels whilst managing a growing fashion empire AND following her husband to different corners of the globe to watch his soccer games; it’s all in a days work for Victoria Beckham. Oh and did we mention she has PERFORMED AT THE OLYMPICS!!

Sounds pretty super right? Well, if you’re as secretly obsesssed intrigued with the life and times of the Beckhams as we are, here’s a little How To to help you on your way to becoming the next VB.

Step One: The Girl Band

Join a band where you get to wear platform shoes, mini skirts and fist pump about girl power. Oh and make ridiculously catchy pop tunes.

Victoria Beckham first shot to fame as ‘Posh,’ one of the five women who formed the girl group ‘The Spice Girls’ in 1994. The Spice Girls were one of the most succesful groups of the 90s, selling over 55 million records worldwide. They reformed in 2012 to perform at the Olympic Closing Ceremony. Check it out (and don’t pretend that you don’t know all the words!)

Step Two: Marry a hunky soccer star

It doesn’t seem quite fair that VB gets the career, the looks, the talent AND the man, but thats exactly what happened. She was arguably THE original WAG, so to follow in her footsteps you’d better start hanging out at your local football club…

David Beckham may have one of the most recognisable names (and Abs) in soccer, but when he first met Victoria didn’t realise the extent of his fame, saying “I didn’t really know who he was. I was never into football.”  After meeting at a charity football event in 1997, Victoria and David were soon married and given the alter-ego-celeb-couple name of ‘Posh and Becks.’ During the early days of their courtship Posh and Becks donned questionable matching outfits, but have since become style icons. They are ambassadors for various luxury goods, have their own perfume line and also appeared in a steamy Emporio Armani Underwear campaign together. They are still married, despite the occasional media scandal, and have four children.

Step Three: Become a fashion icon

Look good. All the time. Then make other people look good. All the time.

Victoria Beckham has somehow managed to transcend the celebrity endorsed perfume market and graduated into a fully fledged and highly regarded fashion designer (and unofficial queen of the pencil skirt.) Whilst Victoria has always been associated with all things style, from her influential hairstyle the ‘Pob’ to Posh’s iconic LBD, Victoria Beckham designs have been snapped up by everyone, from Beyonce to Olivia Palermo to Heidi Klum. They have even got the tick of approval from the fashion heavyweights, her label  won the ‘Designer Brand of the Year’ at the British Fashion Awards in 2011.

Still not convinced? Take a look through this gallery of classic VB style.

Step Four: Keep it real with the kids

You can’t be glamourous all the time. Even VB gets baby spew on her shirt occasionally…

The Beckhams have four children, sons Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 11, Cruz, 8 and daughter Harper, 2. Victoria has recently spoken out about the struggle to balance working full time and bringing up her children, a problem that she assures us celebrities aren’t immune from. Posh is often snapped with one or more of her offspring hanging off her as she strides around the various world cities in her 6-inch heels (Victoria Beckham doesn’t do flats. Ever.) She is known as being a very hands on mother but admits she feels guilty about the time her children spend with the Nanny whilst she is working.

“I think you feel so torn, don’t you? But I’ve got great people who handle my schedule and everything does revolve around the children,” Beckham said at Vogue’s Festival in London earlier this year.

“ It’s no different for me than any other mum… But it’s difficult juggling working, having the children, having a husband who travels. I do have a bit of help, I have a nanny, I can’t do it all myself.

“I really enjoy being a mum, I love them (her children) and I’d do anything for them. But I also love what I do. I think anyone who says it’s easy is lying.”

Step Five: Laugh at yourself

If you want to be as successful AND as likeable as Victoria Beckham you had better learn to embrace your stereotype… the key is to take the piss OFTEN and on Twitter if possible.

Under constant watch from the relentless paparazzi Victoria Beckham developed the reputaton of being a somewhat cold and steely person, often photographed unsmiling with dark glasses on. However, she is actually known for being extremely witty and having a great sense of humour. From poking fun at herself on Twitter, switching shoes with Ellen DeGeneres and letting the public catch a glimpse of her life through various documentary style TV shows, Victoria Beckham has shown her personality to be anything but the serious and solemn Anna-Wintour-esq fashionista. She is in fact, HILARIOUS.

And, if this all seems a little to hard to achieve it is worth noting that she does have quite a brood of exceptional offspring (her oldest has already featured in a Burberry campaign). If you can wait long enough maybe you could marry in? Having Posh as a mother-in-law is every gals dream, right? (IMAGINE THE CLOTHES YOU COULD “BORROW” !!! )
