Kim Kardashian, she of the admirably round bottom, has just released a media statement.
Th 33-year-old reality TV star / fashion designer / selfie enthusiast / future Mrs West / new baby mama is sick of reading about her own ass in the media, and she wants it to stop.
She issued a stern warning to gossip sites who’ve been reporting that she had butt implants.
Or, more creatively, that she’s had fat from her stomach injected into her bottom.
Here’s her important, ass-themed callout in full:
I’m seeing all these nonsense tabloids claiming I have butt implants-injections. Get a life! Using pics of me 15lbs skinnier (before I had my baby) comparing to me now! I still have weight to lose. Anyone who has had a baby knows how hard it is to lose weight(especially the last bit of weight) & your body totally changes! Making fun of me pregnant & making fun of me trying to lose weight now shame on you. I’m not perfect but I will never conform to your skinny standards sorry! Not me. And BTW I’ve lost a lot so far & I’m proud of that! Don’t give young girls a complex!
We think it’s… awesome? Kind of?
Good on her for slamming those butt-implant rumours. Aint nobody got time to read rumours about their own butt all day. We’re a little bit impressed that she’s standing up for herself and calling people out on their bullshit.
But is she doing the right thing, promoting fast post-baby weight loss as something to be really proud of? Is it the media giving young girls a complex, or is it more likely that home-made butt selfies like Kimmy K’s famous one are doing exactly that?
What do you make of Kim’s butt-related rant? Any mamas who agree?

Is she promoting rapid weight loss? All I read is a comment that she needs/wants to lose weight. And it's because her - job? Way of life, means of having an income - depends on her appearance. Mine doesn't, just on my general health and fitness, so I can keep up with the kids and get around to activities, catch-ups with friends/family, etc. So, what she needs to do to maintain her lifestyle - lose weight - has nothing to do with me, or anyone not making a living from their appearance. Would I think any less of her if she forever carried more weight after having kids? Absolutely not! I'm not for a moment saying I like or agree with society's view of celebrity and weight loss. But it's the truth.
I get it, she's upset - her body has just done about the most miraculous thing it's capable of doing, and she's come out alive. Even if it happens to 35ish% of the population (I made that stat up), you kinda want a medal for your efforts - it's hard! BUT, I, for example, would not like my overbite up for discussion...So I don't plaster my social media with pictures of my overbite. Unfortunately, you can't have it both ways. She's posted seven zillion photos of her wearing almost nothing (which *applause* PS, she's proud 'n' all that). But you can't then get all crabby because the media aren't saying exactly what you want them to. She's not JUST being papped enjoying herself at the beach, a la Jen Love Hewitt... She's posting the pics herself.
