We’re only a few licks of paint and a couple of scatter cushions away from the grand finale of House Rules 2018.
For the past couple of months, teams from around Australia have been renovating each other’s houses… with varying results.
In an emotional semi-final last night, Western Australia’s Chiara and David were sent home.
During the semi-final, the contestants renovated the home of Chelsea Dunley and her young daughter, Koa. Chelsea and her husband, Wayde, had just submitted their final video application for the show, when Wayde passed away last year.
The show decided to give Chelsea’s home a makeover in a touching tribute to her late husband.
Now Queensland’s Mel and Dave, and New South Wales’ Toad and Mandy, will go head to head in the grand finale at 7.30pm on Monday night.
While we wait for our next dose of home reno-goodness, we thought we’d take a look at the rooms the two grand finalists teams delivered during the semi-final.
Queensland’s Mel and Dave
Mel and Dave were tasked with updating Chelsea’s entry, laundry, dining room, ensuite, back deck, as well as Koa’s bedroom.
Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen gave them a 9, Wendy gave them an 8, while Drew rated them a 7.
NSW's Toad and Mandy
Toad and Mandy were tasked with renovating the exterior of Chelsea's house as well as her loungeroom, bathroom and master bedroom.
All three judges gave them an 8.
The House Rules Grand Final will air on Monday, 7:30pm, on Channel Seven.
