Writing a journal entry on her website, Sarah said:
“We teach these people that they are above the law. Nobody tells these people NO, and they may start small, but when they keep getting away with everything, they get bolder. Their crimes get bigger. Then when people do something and somebody does tell them no, they don’t care anymore. They figure somebody on their team will just take care of it, and clean up the mess.”
“I know there’s several people in Australia who are wondering whether to speak up about others in the industry. You don’t have to go public like I did, but please go to the police. Let’s keep the ball rolling. Let’s keep speaking up about these unspeakable acts. Let’s teach these predators that they are no longer untouchable.”
In May, Sarah’s predator, Robert Hughes, was sentenced to a maximum of ten years and nine months, with a non-parole period of six years.
Rolf Harris will be sentenced on Friday.

Excuse me, but I object to you referring to Monaghan as a victim. She came forward and did all of the right things and said all of the right things to get an investigation into Hughes actions started.
She stood tall and proved to all and sundry that she is the victor rather than a victim.
Oh don't be so PC, faux outraged. In order for Robert Hughes to have been convicted there must have been a victim.
Just because a woman doesn't have the courage or abilities to report, doesn't make her a victim vs the "victor" she could be if she came forward. Also, by your reasoning if a woman reports a crime and is unsuccessful in having it prosecuted than she remains a victim rather than a "victor".
Nonsense.
You're getting confused between the real meaning of the word and its more modern, derogatory implication. She is a victim of a paedophile, there is nothing offensive about stating fact.
You're very good at being offended. Is it just a hobby or have you made a career out of it?
Well said Sarah.
