Eight films in the Fast and Furious franchise is showing no signs of slowing down.
The latest film will feature no less than two Oscar winning actresses. That’s right, TWO.
Dame Helen Mirren has confirmed she’ll be appearing in Fast 8 “for the fun of it” alongside fellow Oscar winner Charlize Theron, who’s tipped to play the film’s villain.
They’ll be joining Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Vin Diesel, ensuring this will absolutely, definitely, most certainly be one of the greatest film’s of all time (at the risk of sounding hyperbolic).
Mirren told Elle magazine she’s “always rather loved driving” when asked if she’d be getting behind the wheel.
“I said, ‘I’ll be in it, but only if I’m allowed to drive if I do drive in it.’ But we’ll see. We’ll see how it transpires,” she said.
“I love big, fun movies–as long as they’re well made and they’ve got good scripts. That’s the most important thing.”
The plot of the film remains a mystery but if it’s anything like this scene from Red 2, it’s gonna be brutal:
