Yesterday Hamish Blake got all mushy about his baby son and today Zoe posted an adorable new pic.
Hamish and his wife, writer Zoe Foster Blake welcomed baby Sonny Donald Blake on Saturday – and the 32-year-old fulfilled the first of his important fatherly duties by cutting his boy’s umbilical cord.
“It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen,” he said in an interview on 2Day FM. “If you’re a bit squeamish from blood maybe that’s a tough gig, but personally, I thought it was incredible.”
Hamish also praised 33-year-old Zoe on how she handled the "heroic feat" that was Sonny's birth - "she was a champion" - before jesting that she'd headed off on a girl's weekend to "the Goldy", leaving him to look after the bub.
In typical Hamish style, he also cracked a joke about the couple's choice of name.
"It’s better than daughter-y I suppose, which was our favourite girl’s name," he said. Well, we know that's not true, as Zoe had previously told a reporter she liked the name Blue for a girl - that is, until Beyonce "stole" it.
As if those quotes from Hamish weren't enough to squeeze the ol' ovaries, he revealed in a separate interview that holding his son had moved him to tears.
“It is all the cliched things they tell you,” he told the FOX FM show Fifi and Dave. “I’ve been crying, I just can’t get enough of just holding him. It is the craziest most magical thing. But I’m probably still in the terror stage, to be honest.”
Hamish and Zoe, who wed in secret back in 2012, both announced their son's birth on social media, with Zoe joking he'd been named Dracula von Sandwich Twinklestar. Hmmm - we think we prefer Sonny.
