Ryan Reynolds fell for Blake Lively - while they were on a double date with other people.

Ryan Reynolds, 39, and Blake Lively, 28, are the perfect Hollywood couple. With their 14-month-old daughter James in tow, both have a philanthropic heart and attractive… outer layer. They’re a dream team.

But when Ryan shared how he first fell in love with Blake… we kind of felt bad. Not for them, obviously. But for the two people they took out on dates alongside them, only to ignore at the restaurant/movie/walk home because they were so darn smitten for each other.

Ryan explained to People:

"About a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and we were both single we went on a double date – she was on a date with another guy and I was on a date with another girl – and it was like the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across."

See what we mean? Uncomfortable.

They HAD been friends for a long time before this point, which Ryan explained was key to their eventual getting together, but we just wished they'd waited until after their dates had gone before they, you know, fell for each other.

We heard that Ryan was particularly annoying during Blake labour though, deciding to blast Marvin Gaye "Getting It On" in the delivery room, so who knows maybe his date is praising the high heavens she missed out.
