Cate Blanchett and Guy Pearce appear to be in a one-sided feud, and the internet doesn't quite know what to do about it.
The two performers, both considered Australian acting royalty, have left us feeling a little confused after Pearce wrote and published several tweets 'throwing shade' at Blanchett.
However, it seems this feud (which is entirely one-sided, might we remind you) dates all the way back to 2009.
Let us take you back.

It began over a pay discrepancy almost 14 years ago – when Pearce alluded to being annoyed with Blanchett. At the time, she was the co-artistic director of the Sydney Theatre Company.
Pearce was due to appear in a production of Poor Boy. The project was a joint venture between the Sydney Theatre Company and the Melbourne Theatre Company.
But when asked if he would fulfil the role in Sydney too, the Neighbours actor told Stuff NZ: "I’d certainly do it if I didn’t have any other projects coming forward but it’s way too early to tell.
"If I’m not at home, I might as well be doing something like a movie that pays a decent amount. I mean it would be hard to say: 'Sorry, I don’t want to do your movie because I want to work for nothing in Sydney for another three months'."
And then, he added, "Ms Blanchett’s fantastic, absolutely, but I’ve got to make a living. Unless she wants to pay me what she earns. If she does, it’ll be the most the STC ever paid an actor, I guarantee."

While many would let go of a tiff from 14 years ago, we have an inkling Pearce did not.
And that was made explicitly clear earlier this month when Blanchett was nominated for Best Actress for her performance in Tár at the Critics’ Choice Awards earlier.
He had thrown his support behind Ana De Armas (for her controversial role in Netflix's Blonde) over Blanchett, Michelle Williams and Margot Robbie. The actor reposted a photo of the four side-by-side and wrote, "Please be Ana De Armas! Incredible performance!"
That alone might not have raised eyebrows, but his next tweet did.
Retweeting a post from a Blanchett fan account that had photos of the actress in a bondage-inspired photo shoot, he wrote: "Ah, no thanks."
And when Blanchett won the award for her performance at the Critics' Choice Awards, Pearce couldn't help but voice his disappointment with two-words on Twitter: "Fascinating choice....."
Fans responded almost immediately, questioning Pearce's posts.
"Dying to know why Guy Pearce has such passive-aggressive beef with Cate Blanchett," wrote one user.
Another tweet read, "Why does Guy Pearce have beef with Cate Blanchett lol".
After deleting the evidence, Pearce responded, "Fear not. No beef at all. I was merely being sarcastic. I adore Miss CB. She’s incredible… One of our best!"
If you're wondering, Blanchett has not addressed the one-sided feud currently taking place.
