From happiness to heartbreak in a matter of weeks, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has shared the sad news that his wife has recently suffered a miscarriage.
In a post on his public Facebook page, the Kitchen Nightmares host said the “devastating” event occurred over the weekend, five months into Tana’s pregnancy.
“We’re together healing as a family, but we want to thank everyone again for all your amazing support and well wishes,” he wrote.
“I’d especially like to send a big thank you to the amazing team at Portland Hospital for everything they’ve done.”
A tribute to all the babies we’ve lost… (post continues after video)
Ramsay announced the pregnancy during an appearance on The Late, Late Show last month while talking about his four children, aged 14, 16 and 17. “We have three girls and a boy… and one more on the way,” he said, beaming.

The 49-year-old's followers flooded last night's post with thousands of messages of sympathy and support overnight, many of which were from people who too had experienced the heartbreak of losing a child.
"I know your pain. I've walked that paths more times than I'll admit in public," wrote one commenter. "I currently 21 weeks along with a daughter. My last chance for a baby. The fear of losing her is everyday. The threat doesn't end at 3 months for some of us. My heart goes out to your family. Stay strong. God has a plan for all of us."
"So very sorry for your loss," wrote another. "We lost our son at 20 weeks, it is truly the hardest pain a family will endure, thank you for being so brave and talking about your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family xxx"

How devastating. So sorry for your loss Ramsay family xx
20 weeks is the usual cut off for a miscarriage. Tana would have given birth to her still born child. I have been there, and there is a difference.
