Amy Schumer has revealed her painful struggle with pregnancy illness.

Amy Schumer is having a turbulent pregnancy.

Opening up on Instagram this morning, the 37-year-old actress revealed she is struggling with hyperemesis, but that her baby remains healthy.

“I am in the hospital. I’m fine. Baby’s fine but everyone who says the 2nd trimester is better is not telling the full story. I’ve been even more ill this trimester,” she wrote in the Instagram post.

“I have hyperemesis and it blows. Very lucky to be pregnant but this is some bullshit! Sending so much love to the doctors and nurses taking great care of me and Tati! They are cool as hell!” she added.

Amy Schumer was forced to cancel shows on her comedy tour in the US following her hospitalisation.

According to American Pregnancy, hyperemesis is severe morning sickness. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, weight loss, and electrolyte disturbance. Severe cases require hospitalisation so that the mother can receive fluids and nutrition through an IV drip.

The illness was also experienced by Kate Middleton during each of her pregnancies.

The Trainwreck actress announced the pregnancy with her husband Chris Fischer in October in a very original way.

The 37-year-old posted a photo of herself and her 38-year-old partner’s heads imposed onto a photo of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle strolling down a boardwalk.

It was certainly suggestive, but not definite.

Then, in the caption, Amy Schumer referred her followers to watch political journalist Jessica Yellin’s Instagram story.

Over on Jessica’s Instagram Stories, the veteran journalist posted a list of her recommendations for candidates to vote for in the US midterms next month.

And right down the bottom were the words: “I’m pregnant – Amy Schumer”.

Now that’s a statement.
