Now it’s part of our kids’ lives, but Frozen was going to be completely different.
If you are a parent, you probably know the Frozen dialogue and songs off-by-heart. But what you don’t know, is that Disney originally had different plans for Frozen.
The Huffington Post reports that Disney originally wanted Frozen's animation to look hand-drawn. Like Aladdin or Beauty and the Beast. It was also to be called Anna and the Snow Queen.
However, when The Princess and the Frog, a hand-drawn animation, didn't succeed in getting every child to sing their songs non-stop, Disney scrapped Anna and the Snow Queen and started again. Like Tangled.
Good choice, Disney. Frozen is now the highest-grossing animated film of all time. It has also made parents cringe when anyone says "Let it go" in case their children overhear and start singing.
Cory Loftis, Disney's virtual development artist decided to post some of the original hand-drawn artwork to his Tumblr. "I’ve seen this stuff floating around really low res so I thought I’d go ahead and post it myself."
