A young female school teacher has been accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a teenage girl who was one of her students.
Child Abuse Squad detectives arrested the 26-year-old West Australian woman on Saturday, a day after the offences were reported.
The alleged abuse occurred between July 2015 and May this year and the girl was 15-years-old when it began, police said.
They also confirmed the woman they arrested was the girl’s teacher.
She has been charged with 23 offences in total, including several counts of Sexual Penetration of a Child as well as Persistent Sexual Conduct with a child under 16.
The woman will appear in the Midland Magistrates Court on June 14.

26 is young? She has been a legal adult for 8.5 years!
...and the search for diminished responsibility (because the offender is female) begins in earnest.
Yup, take what a male teacher would get for this and divide by 3... Should be close enough to the mark.
She doesn't have any children so she can't go with the, but I have a baby I need to be out of prison with defence, so I guess she will go with abused childhood or violent ex partner made me do it?
