Love it! I think the best comment I have read so far said something along the lines of 'If you think you won't be able to relate to the character because she's now a woman, you finally know how all the other people who aren't represented on TV feel'. (But the guy complaining about people calling him/her 'Doctor Who and not 'The Doctor' is correct.)
So in order to diversify they made the Doctor a straight, white woman?
Not exactly giant strides.
And look at the response they've had over that ! Imagine if it was a person of a different race. going by this reaction, there would be bedlam! Maybe once people realise that a female doctor isn't the end of the world, we might get a bit more actual diversity.
