Erin McNaught defends her baby bump after Instagram followers unleash abuse.

Model and television presenter Erin McNaught has responded to Instagram followers after an image of her baby bump was criticised for being too “tiny”.

The 35-year-old mother posted an image of herself in her underwear to Instagram yesterday with the caption: “Third trimester”.

She didn’t realise the torrent of abuse that would follow. Now, she’s responded in the best way possible.

“A lot of people commenting on how small my bump is for 27 weeks… A few important points!” McNaught added to the post yesterday evening.

She said she took the picture first-thing in the morning and that, by evening, she is “WAY bigger”.

She reminded followers of her height (5’9″) and said she’s put on between seven and eight kilograms since the beginning of the pregnancy.

“Even my midwife has said I have ‘an extra-long torso’ – this means I have a lot more room to carry a baby,” her update reads. “I eat pretty well (aside from a burger or two a week) and exercise moderately; both are important for a healthy bubba.”

“I’m measuring spot-on for how far along I am.”

What to pack in your hospital bag. Post continues below.

Most importantly, McNaught told followers she is “feeling pretty good” and her midwife is happy with her progress. “That’s all I need to say.”

Followers have also been quick to rush to the television presenter’s defence, with many comments reassuring McNaught by sharing similar experiences and reminding her not to listen to trolls.

McNaught announced her pregnancy in May. This will be her second child with musician Elliot John Gleave, who goes by the stage name Example. The pair were married in 2014 and their first child, son Evander Maxwell Gleave, was born in December of that year.

Oh for goodness sakes! When will people get it through their thick skulls that it's NEVER ok to comment on how a woman looks during pregnancy. NO two women carry the same. It's sad that she even has to justify herself to these ignoramuses.
