Warning: itsy bitsy spoilers for the latest season of Game of Thrones ahead.
When Game of Thrones finally returned to our screens on Monday, it was a perfect reunion.
Well, almost.
You see, there was one tiny aspect of the show’s season seven premiere that the world (read: the Internet) took issue with.
Yep, that was pop star Ed Sheeran making an appearance, singing a little ditty and having a good ‘ole chit chat with Arya Stark.
Some claimed that Sheeran’s appearance took the show too much out of the fantasy world and into the real world for their liking.
Others said they just didn’t…get…it.
Now, it appears the 26-year-old Shape of You singer has had enough of the Internet’s criticism and temporarily deleted Twitter account altogether.
It is suspected the singer, who is no stranger to a bit of a social media detox, removed his account to avoid the endless trolling from some Thrones fans.
Clare Stephens recaps the last season of Game of Thrones in 90 seconds on The Binge. Post continues…
While his account is now up and running again, it’s been cleared of all tweets Sheeran has posted in the last two years. The newest Tweet visible on his profile was sent on April 4, 2015.
Fans of the singer were upset that his minutes-long cameo was the cause of his social media blackout.
Poor Ed.
If it’s any consolation, my work colleague says you were the only part of the episode that made any sense.
We love, you Ed!

He quit twitter because people said mean things? Snowflake.
He did such a nice job.
He blended in - which is what actors are supposed to do.
That whole scene had a charming, "normal" quality to it which is important if you consider how "not-so-normal" Arya has had to become.
Believe it or not there are millions of GOT fans who don't know who Ed is so - it's ok, really it is.
i know before i watch that ep i did not even know who was Ed Sheeran was
Exactly! If you didn't know who he was, no one would have batted an eyelid.
The thing is, for those who did know who he was, it was reeeeally obvious. I think that's the criticism.
