David Cameron has stepped down as Prime Minister following what has been one of the most momentous days in Britain’s modern history.
Mr Cameron announced his resignation in an address to the media following the UK’s shock exit from the European Union.

Out of 33,577,342 votes cast in Britain, 16,141,241 Britons voted to remain in the EU and 17,410,742 voted to leave.
“The British people have voted to leave the EU and their will must be respected,” Mr Cameron said in a press conference.
“Across the world people have been watching the choice that Britain has made.”
“While we are not perfect I do believe that we can be a model of a multi-racial multi faith democracy where people can come and make a contribution and rise to the very highest their talent allows.
“I said before that Britain can survive outside the European Union and indeed that we could find a way. Now the decision has been made to leave we need to find the best way and I will do everything I can to help. I love this country and I feel honoured to have served it and I will do everything I can in future to help this great country succeed.”
Mr Cameron said the country will ‘require strong, determined and committed leadership.’
“I am very proud to have been Prime Minister of this country for six years. I have held nothing back. The British people have made a very clear decision. I think the country requires fresh leadership.
“I do not think I can be the captain to take the country to its next destination.”
Mr Cameron said he plans to give up his position by the Conservative conference in October.

I think he means that three times in a hundred years that the political situation in Germany has had extremely negative ramifications for the rest of Europe, which is true.

The best ever thing that has happened in the UK. Many Australians don't really understand the full extent of what is happening. In a nutshell, England wants to govern independently without paying billions of dollars to the EU and be governed by the EU. The EU started off with good intentions, but they have become greedy, power hunger government bullies.
Hopefully other countries will follow suit and run the EU to the ground where it belongs. The Europeans need to take their power back and govern what is right for their people.
