A hotel manager's response to the man who came in every week to cheat on his wife.

The manager saw them together each week at his hotel and decided to expose the cheating husband’s behaviour.

If you caught someone you didn’t know in the act of cheating, what would you do?

A Hotel Manager was faced with this situation and made a pretty bold decision to call it out. After seeing the same man week after week at his hotel with a mistress, the manager sent a very deliberate letter to the wife of the cheating husband.

The Manager used Whisper, a social network that allows you to anonymously post confessions, to share the response with the world.

Some congratulated the Manager, complimenting the actions and commending he/she for taking a stand against the cheating husband.

Others however weren’t as complimentary, calling his behaviour intrusive, with some even saying it was illegal.

Over to you. What would you do if you caught someone out cheating?

So many responses saying the hotel manager was judgemental, yet they crucify him for his actions. He didn't actually tell the wife anything about cheating; he simply sent a courtesy card thanking them for their business. No legal issues there, and if that alerts the wife to her husband's cheating, that's actually not his responsibility.

Equally, I'm mindful of the reader that told her best friend, who went on to attempt suicide. (Not that I think it was her being told that caused such intense and relentless emotional pain that suicide looked like an option, as the injury to her attachment bond with her husband was already occurring.)

If a couple have shared polyamorous values, then that's one thing. But if one believes they have shared monogamous values, and the other knowingly betrays that, then they are playing with the heart of another. Yes, some don't want to know--but of those, some are going to find out anyway.

I think the hotel manager's handling of it was courageous, value-driven, handled appropriately and within the professional scope of his role.

It's actually none of his business.
