It was only fitting that Charlie Pickering’s final sign-off on The Project featured a penis sketch.
Last night, after his final time behind the desk at The Project, Charlie tweeted this picture… revealing that he’s been drawing a penis on his run-down sheet every night for the past 1,244 episodes. The man is a class act.
It wasn’t all penises-and-applause last night though. Emotions were free-flowing as his co-host Carrie Bickmore wept during her co-host’s charming final tribute on the show.
As a farewell present, Bickmore gave her co-host a years supply of activated nuts after admitting to eating his stash for the majority of their time together. Pickering joked that he “definitely wanted a big stack of nuts.”
Most charming of all was Charlie’s address to his devoted audience ‘I consider every minute that I’m on air to be an absolute privilege, and that you would invite me into your homes night after night means the world to me.’
His fans, who include more than 146,000 twitter followers, trended #byecharlie during the show with messages of adoration for the hilarious host.

I watched the Project tape live and between tapes found Charlie Pickering to be quite unpleasant. Maybe he was having an off day but I never liked watching him after that.
