Happy news for The Project newsreader.
Channel 10 presenter Carrie Bickmore and her partner, Chris Walker, have welcomed a baby girl.
The 34-year-old co-host announced her baby’s safe arrival on Twitter this afternoon.
And now she’s posted the first picture on The Project’s Facebook page.
Funnily enough, Bickmore announced her pregnancy during a live TV broadcast of the show in October last year.
“Speaking of babies, I have some news for you, I am having a baby,” she said on-air.
And while she was excited about her impending arrival, she also expressed her fears about the birth. Carried suffered a serious haemorrhage 10 days after her first pregnancy seven years ago.

“I’m excited to meet this baby but I am not excited about the birth,” she told the Herald Sun.
“I wasn’t one of those women who put the baby on their chest and felt so happy and in love. I just wanted to vomit. I did vomit. Childbirth is hell. Of course, I loved my son but it wasn’t that instant thing for me that everyone talks about.”
Carrie’s first son, Oliver, was with her former husband Greg Lange, who sadly passed away in 2010 after a 10-year battle brain cancer.
We wish Carrie and Chris all the best on the new addition to their family.

I have been thinking about baby number two but am so scared after the birth of my first. It's kind of refreshing to hear someone positive like Carrie say yes it was hard, and still have fears, but still have a positive take on it, rather than being very negative about a hard time.
Makes me feel like that's a normal way to feel too!
Congratulations to the family, and thanks for being so relatable!
Imagine if Asher's little boy grows up and marries Carrie's little girl. Love hearing about baby news! Evie sounds very cute.
