The horrific reason two bridesmaids were suddenly dropped from a friend's bridal party.

There always seems to be an incredible amount of drama brewing behind what should be a couple’s ‘perfect day’.

One woman has described finding out the racist reason she was suddenly asked to leave the bridal party of a friend’s wedding.

The tale was shared anonymously on Reddit and ended with the question of whether other users thought the incident was a “big deal”.

“A month after the wedding, one of the bridesmaids was venting to me about how the bride still hadn’t paid for the catering that her boyfriend did and how angry she was about it,” she explained.

“During this conversation, she casually lets it slip that the real reason we were removed from the wedding was because I (South Asian) and my friend (Black) had dark skin, and she preferred how the dresses looked on pale skin.”

The former bridesmaid said she was yet to tell her friend the true reason behind why they were let go.

The story sounds like it couldn't possibly get worse but it was also revealed the bride had been a bridesmaid at her wedding as the pair have been friends for 12 years.

The comment section below the post was flooded with users outraged at the bride's outright racism.

"This is not a friend you want to have. My friend is a professional power lifter and looked like a ridiculous baby gorilla crammed into my groomsman's outfit. Didn't make an ounce of difference because he's my friend and I wanted him beside me," one user said.

Listen as we talk about our comparatively petty wedding regrets... post continues.

Some users recommended the original poster verify the truth behind the story before she confronted the bride.

"Before you go too far into reacting I think you need to verify this statement. Even if the person who told you didn't intentionally alter what the bride said, it's still possible her comments were misunderstood," one user suggested.

Whether the bride said it or the other bridesmaid, even the suggestion itself should be considered "a big deal".

It's hear wedding. If she doesn't like how they look together and doesn't want them there, that's her right.

How is this even possible that someone could be such close friends with another person of color but then drop them because of the color of their skin. Wow that just is incredible to me! If someone is a friend they are a friend, whether they are black, white, green, blue, fat, thin, bald, curly hair, straight hair, short, tall whatever. So basically this person has been a racist since the get go, yet pretending to be friends with someone for 12 odd years.

So where do we go to next with this, does the bride decide to dump the groom because she realises that he won't look good in the bowtie she always dreamed of her grooming wearing since she was a little girl?

Or can the groom decide he no longer wants to marry the bride because she isn't going to look physically perfect in her wedding dress?

What kind of superficial freaks get married these days? Back in the day you married for love, picked your spouse and friends to be part of the bridal party, regardless of whether they were models or not. Weddings weren't about some superficial modelling event.

Anyway I haven't been to a wedding in a while, so no doubt these stories of over the top brides are in the minority. Or at the very least I want to hear about the OTT grooms who have axed their best man because his eye colour doesn't match the bow ties!
