Amanda Knox acquitted of murder by Italian Supreme Court.

The Italian Supreme Court has overturned Amanda Knox’s murder conviction.

The decision. handed down by Italy’s highest court on Friday afternoon, will be the final ruling in the case, ending Knox’s long legal battle.

Knox and her then boyfriend, Rafaello Sollecito, had previously been convicted of the murder of Knox’s roommate Meredith Kercher in 2007. Knox was sentenced to 28 years in prison for her part in the crime.

The background to Knox’s legal battle.

The Knox case hit international headlines after Italian media portrayed the accused as a sex-crazed psychopath, after she and Sollecito — her then boyfriend of several days — were seen canoodling after Kercher’s murder.

As more evidence came to light, the Knox narrative switched to “naive and innocent” — a young girl manipulated by the Italian police in a bungled investigation.

The original conviction was subsequently overturned on appeal in 2011, and yet again in 2014, with prosecutors successfully arguing that evidence had been omitted in the appeal.

A man named Rudy Guede, whose DNA and fingerprints were discovered at the scene, has already been convicted of the murder. Guede is serving a 16-year sentence.

Opinion: Why I think Amanda Knox is innocent.

Prosecutors in the Supreme Court appeal argued that Knox and Sollecito were accomplices to Guede.

The Court’s reasoning behind the decision will be released within 90 days.

Knox faced extradition to Italy if the conviction was upheld.

So last week I read that her ex boyfriend was already in prison for this and that she would probably be extradited back to Italy because they had both been convicted again, now I read this that she has been acquitted again! Huh! And does this mean the ex boyfriend has been acquitted again too. Will next month see them being convicted again and the month after acquitted again and so on? Is this the only case that is going on Italy? Or does their criminal justice system have time to work on other cases also?

nobody cares what happens to the boyfriend. He is not a pretty girl. It wont be reported.
