Accused paedophile William Spedding has been denied bail after being charged with the rape of two girls in 1987.
The five historical charges occurred in Sydney, and involved the repeated rape of two girls, aged six and three.
Police allege Mr Spedding was also involved in a paedophile ring, in which he offered children to fellow abusers.
The charges against Mr Spedding were laid after authorities unearthed historical police and medical records, leading to his arrest. The case is also supported by official statements made by the victims.
The 63-year-old whitegoods repairman is accused of having sex with the little girls, penetrating them with his finger and forcing them to touch him sexually, The Daily Telegraph reports.
Police allege the abuse was carried out during a weekend in 1987 when Mr Spedding was staying in a caravan near Campbelltown. After sharing a bed with his victims, police records state the six-year-old alleged victim woke up to him raping her.

The court was also told of the possibility Mr Spedding gave one of his victims to another man.
“In the course of obtaining victim statements police were made aware of further disturbing allegations of children being involved in witnessing or performing sex acts on each other, with another male adult present, or the giving of the victim by (Spedding) to another male adult associate for sexual purposes,” the police facts read.
Police also allege Mr Spedding has asked one of the girl’s for a statement clearing his name, while his wife, Margaret, who attended court yesterday, also attempted to contact one of the victim’s, sending a text message which read: “It really saddens me you’re involved in this.”
Channel Nine reports the girls, now in their thirties, were told not to speak of the attacks or their mother would be put in jail.
The accused was denied bail at a Port Macquarie court, yesterday.
Mr Spedding has recently made headlines as a person of interest in the case of missing toddler, William Tyrrell.
Three-year-old Tyrrell went missing from his grandmother’s home in September last year, days after Mr Spedding visited the residence to fix the washing machine.

Police have hidden the truth for way to long why has someone accused of molesting a 3 and 6 yr old girl back in 1987 been allowed to foster kids? Why isn't his wife behind bars as well? And where is poor little William most importantly?
I didn't agree with the naming and shaming of this man earlier on in the investigation because I thought that it wasn't fair to him and his family to have his name splashed all over the media if he really didn't have anything to do with it, however if these allegations are true then fair game, and through the book at him! Sounds to me like he is very much still a person of interest in little William's disappearance and the cops are just biding there time............they'll get him in the end, hopefully the little boy will be found alive.
Don't you get why they released his name now!!!? They needed victims to come forward.
Shame they didn't do their job properly 6 months ago or nearly 4 months ago back in July they kept insisting he was not a suspect, I read in another article it was a poor mum whose kid had been put in foster care with Bill Spedding after a domestic violence incident who complained to FACS when saw it in the media. As for the latest was one of his own relatives who rang alarm bells about alleged events in 1987....... why are even alleged pedophiles allowed to foster children? There may be the innocent until proven guilty factor but in my view it is sick he has had so many children in his care over the years. Our government and system has a lot to answer for, even the latest news saiud they expect there to be many more charges against Bill Spedding and suspect a pedophile ring involved
