Ahhh, autumn. The nights are longer, the weather's cooling down, and the TV's really bloody good.
It's the perfect recipe for couch time, right?
Chuck on your comfies, because these are the 11 shows you'll want to enjoy right now:
BEEF - Netflix.
In BEEF, Ali Wong and Steven Yeun go head-to-head in the aftermath of a road rage incident between their characters, self-made entrepreneur Amy and failing contractor Danny.
They're living very different lives but are equally miserable, so their new feud sparks something new and exciting in their lives... and a way to channel their anger, of course.
Across 10 episodes, BEEF alternates between the two protagonists and the ever-increasing stakes of their, um, beef, that unravels their lives and relationships.
And all of that happens alongside some serious laughs as well as deeply moving moments.
It's brilliant.
All 10 episodes of Beef are streaming on Netflix.
Dreamland - Binge.
Dreamland is based on the 2018 BAFTA-winning short of the same name: it's a comedy-drama about secrets, lies, loves and aspirations within a family of four sisters.
Eldest sister Trish (Freema Agyeman) is pregnant for the third time, and she's literally manifesting a girl with a 'mani-festival', with the support of her sisters Clare and Leila, mum and nana host a 'mani-festival'.
But in her first TV role, Lily Allen stars as fourth sister Mel, whose unexpected reappearance threatens to destablise the entire family.
All six episodes of Dreamland are streaming on Binge.
Love Me - Binge.
Season two of Binge's incredible local drama Love Me is here, and it picks up nine months where it left off.
Hugo Weaving, Bojana Novakovic, and William Lodder are back as three different generations of the Mathieson family, who are all now navigating what happens when new love becomes a long-term thing.
If you didn't get around to Love Me season one, consider this your sign.
It's a beautiful series about family, love, loss, and second chances, and I simply cannot wait for more.
All six episodes of Love Me are streaming on Binge.
Tiny Beautiful Things - Disney+.
Tiny Beautiful Things is a miniseries that will make you laugh, and also sob uncontrollably. I've warned you.
It is based on a collection of advice columns written by author Cheryl Strayed under the pseudonym 'Sugar'.
The series centres on Clare, played beautifully by Kathryn Hahn, a writer who reluctantly becomes a popular advice columnist while going through a period of turmoil in her work and personal life.
Each episodes weave between current Clare and younger Clare, played by Sarah Pidgeon, to tell the story of Clare's family, including her mother Frankie (Merritt Wever), who died of cancer when Clare was in college.
It's a beautiful series about forgiveness, family and human connection.
All eight episodes of Tiny Beautiful Things are streaming on Disney+.
The Last Thing He Told Me - Apple TV+.
The Last Thing He Told Me is based on Laura Dave's instant bestseller and mystery-thriller novel of the same name, so you know this one is going to be good.
It stars Jennifer Garner as a woman who must forge a relationship with her sixteen-year-old stepdaughter Bailey, played by Aussie talent Angourie Rice, in order to figure out why her husband mysteriously disappeared.
There are twists, turns, and a supporting performance from Game Of Thrones' Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as her husband, Owen.
The Last Thing He Told Me is streaming on Apple TV+.
Totally Completely Fine - Stan.
Totally Completely Fine is a darkly comedic new local series starring Thomasin Mckenzie (JoJo Rabbit, Last Night in Soho) as 20-something Vivian Cunningham, whose life is a mess.
She's out of money, living in a decrepit share house and prone to drinking away her problems.
Then she inherits her grandfather's shack on the edge of a cliff and realises it's a known suicide site. Suddenly, Vivian finds herself talking people away from the ledge – and realising their pretty respondent to her unorthodox, nihilistic brand of psychology.
Through the lens of family and legacy, Totally Completely Fine asks: how many lives do we have to save before we'll save ourselves?
All six episodes of Totally Completely Fine are streaming on Stan.
The Diplomat - Netflix.
The Diplomat's executive producer Debora Cahn described the show as being about "a bunch of good people doing their best to keep their global and personal partnerships intact without killing each other," and I'M SOLD.
Keri Russell stars as Kate Wyler, a diplomat who was primed for a role in Afghanistan. Instead, she finds herself being named the new US Ambassador to the United Kingdom, in a high-profile role she's unsuited for.
Now, she must deal with the very high-stakes job, navigating life in a new place and her messy marriage with fellow diplomat Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell).
All six episodes of The Diplomat are streaming on Netflix.
Dead Ringers - Prime Video.
Dead Ringers stars Rachel Weisz and... Rachel Weisz, in this gender-flipped psychological thriller miniseries based on David Cronenberg's 1988 film of the same name.
She takes the double-lead role of Elliot and Beverly Mantle, twin gynecologists looking to bring women’s health care to the forefront. They also share everything, from drugs to lovers to an unapologetic pushing of boundaries on medical ethics.
All six episodes of Dead Ringers are streaming on Prime Video.
Mrs. Davis - Binge.
Mrs. Davis is a series with a dark satirical edge, exploring the tension of faith vs technology in a world where almost all decisions are made via algorithm.
It stars Betty Gilpin as a nun named Simone, who goes to battle against an all-powerful Artificial Intelligence known as 'Mrs. Davis', and Jake McDorman as her rebellious ex, who also has a personal vendetta against the tech.
The first four episodes are streaming on Binge, with new episodes weekly on Fridays.
Matildas: The World At Our Feet - Disney+.
The 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup kicks off in Australia and New Zealand in July, but before kick-off, Disney+ has a six-episode docuseries showing us the inspirational and intimate behind-the-scenes story of the Matildas.
Matildas: The World At Our Feet follows the team as they work towards their biggest challenge yet — a World Cup on home soil.
Throughout the series, players including Sam Kerr, Ellie Carpenter and Mary Fowler show the hard work and sacrifices they've made to get to where they are and to leave a lasting legacy.
All six episodes of Matildas: The World At Our Feet premiere April 26 on Disney+.
Love & Death - Binge.
Love & Death tells the true story of Candy and Pat Montgomery and Betty and Allan Gore — two churchgoing couples living pretty unremarkable lives in a small Texas town.
Elizabeth Olsen and Jesse Plemons star as Candy and Allan, whose extramarital affair leads one of them to pick up an axe.
You may be familiar with the story of Betty Gore's murder, especially as the same story was told in Disney+ series Candy just last year, but that doesn't mean there's little interest in this version. There are huge TV names attached: it was written by Big Little Lies and The Undoing's David E. Kelley and executive produced by Nicole Kidman.
The first three episodes of Love & Death premiere April 27 on Binge, followed by new episodes on Thursdays.
Citadel - Prime Video.
Eight years ago, Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) had their memories wiped.
The pair were elite agents at global spy agency Citadel, until it was destroyed by a powerful, shadowy syndicate. Ever since, they've remained hidden with new identities, completely unaware of their pasts.
Then one night, Mason is tracked down by another former colleague, Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), who needs their help.
The two spies then embark on a mission that takes them around the world, trying to save the world while also contending with secrets, lies, and — obviously! — a dangerous romantic plot.
Citadel drops April 28 on Prime Video.
