LEIGH CAMPBELL: These six cleansers will change your skincare game.

A week or two ago on the podcast I revealed I don’t really like gel or foam cleansers.

I prefer oils, milks and creams (sometimes called cremes if we’re being fancy) because they are generally less stripping on the skin. As an oily/combo girl I used to reach for a foaming gel cleanser in a bid to wash away the oil, but that process ‘told’ my skin that the oil was gone and it needed to produce more. Thus, a vicious cycle was started.

I prefer to wash really gently, leaving my skin feel hydrated and subtle, avoiding that squeaky clean feeling.

Anyway, my declaration of love for a gentler cleanser sent the You Beauty Facebook group in a spin, with many members lamenting that they didn’t know where to find or look for a good oil or cream cleanser.

And so, here are my top picks if you’re looking to switch up your cleansing game.

Sukin Cream Cleanser, $9.49.

It works and it’s currently under 10 bucks. How good.

Eve Lom Cleanser, $109.

I’m sorry for including a cleanser that’s over $100 because I am aware that’s absolutely ludicrous but it’s one of the best products I’ve used and how am I to know you didn't just win the lotto?

Natural Instinct Skin Refining Cleansing Oil, $21.99.

If you haven't yet, try cleansing first with an oil before you use your regular (or a cream) cleanser. Especially if you wear makeup or sunscreen, you’ll really notice the difference.

Edible Beauty Cleansing Milk, $54.

You can literally eat this. But don’t. Use it on your face for soft, clean skin instead.

Dr. LeWinns Gentle Cream Cleanser, $24.95.

If natural/hippy brands aren't your thing but you still want something gentle, try this. It also contains vitamin A. Bonus.

Dermalogica Precleanse, $55.25.

The OG of pre-cleansers, this oil-to-milk emulsion used as a first step will take away any stubborn makeup or debris. Skin feels like silk after.

Happy cleansing!
