14 Airbnbs that’ll make you feel like you’re in Bali… without leaving your state.

Sure, going on an overseas holiday sounds great in theory.

Experiencing a new culture. Trying new foods. Seeing new sites.

That is until you’re bleary-eyed at an airport and not quite sure what time zone you’re in after being on a plane for hours - maybe days! - to get to your exotic destination.

But if you’re anything like me at the moment (exhausted), you just want to feel like you’re worlds away without actually having to, you know…travel worlds away.

Luckily for you I have spent an ungodly amount of time scrolling through perfect holiday properties and planning out imaginary getaways for myself that I really should get around to booking, so I’ve decided not to gatekeep them.

Here’s a roundup of Airbnbs that’ll make you feel like you’re on a relaxing Balinese escape without ever even leaving the country. Win-win!

The pool. The palm trees. The white picket fence. Get me there NOW.

I’ve been eyeing off this renovated three-bedroom cottage in Cabarata in Northern NSW for a while now. It’s walking distance from beaches and shops while feeling like a remote Balinese villa.

Treehouse Blue Mountains, NSW.

It’s a literal treehouse guys, I don’t really feel like I need to explain any further but I will.

It’s set among 600 acres of wilderness in the Blue Mountains and has a fireplace and corner spa that overlooks the scenery. Stunning.

The Salty Dog, NSW.

Nothing screams, ‘Leave me alone, I’m relaxing’ more than this wooden boathouse in Newport where the waves literally lap at your door.

It has been set up for romantic escapes but quite frankly I would love to go here for a hot date with my books and a bottle of wine.

Little Red Barn Noosa, Qld.

I want to book this place purely to sit in that outdoor cast iron bathtub.

And the round concrete swimming pool. Basically any fancy way to be submerged in water is a good thing in my eyes and being surrounded by hinterlands would just be bliss!

Hillview Dairy, Qld.

Yes, yes, I’m a sucker for a round pool, I’m sure you’re sensing that by now but this place in the Gold Coast Hinterland also has the most adorable decor and incredible view.

Eyre Way, SA.

I don’t know about you, but camping is not for me. The only stars I want to sleep under are five stars - but this gorgeous little oasis would be the best way to feeeeeel like you’re camping and enjoy being off-grid… while still sleeping on luxurious linen.

This gorgeous tiny home is just 80 metres from SA's Sandy Point Beach and is known as a top spot for whale watching.

The Cremorne Street Coach House, SA.

Something about these arch windows and getting to sleep under a luxurious bed net just spoke to me. This gorgeous studio apartment in Adelaide has two queen beds, making it perfect for a girl’s weekend getaway. Heaven.

Portsea Pool, Spa, Tennis, 5-bedroom, Vic.

I mean, it’s all right there in the name isn’t it. There’s a pool. There’s a spa. There’s a freaking tennis court and fiiiiive bedrooms.

I plan on booking this one for a big group getaway with friends and our kids…or maybe without them.

The Saltbush, Vic.

Tucked away in bushes, just 200 metres from Shoreham Beach, this coastal property is STUNNING and sleeps 10 guests.

There’s also an outdoor shower and figure-eight pool which just screams luxury resort.

Blu Peter Penthouse, WA.

I mean, who doesn’t want to swing in a seaside hammock and read the stack of books they have gathering dust on their bedside table.

This penthouse apartment - which is giving Mykonos vibes with the white decor - is perfect for a couple’s escape and has access to a private spa. Yes, please.

Cremorne Beachfront Luxury, Tas.

As much as we’d all like to dream, most of us are never going to live in a completely beachfront property so we might as well rent one to enjoy it for a few nights instead.

This stunning Tassie property is giving opulence and luxury. Oh, and has an outdoor spa bath.

The Keep, Tas.

I meannnnnn......can it get more peaceful than this?

Perched upon a 650 metre rocky pinnacle overlooking Tasmania’s North-East, this place is designed for total relaxation and serenity. Just picture yourself sitting in the outdoor bath or taking in the scenery with a book and a cup of tea champagne. Heaven. On. Earth.

Gardens Villa, NT.

Life in the tropics looks bloody lovely. I’m not going to lie, the pool is what got me on this one too and it sleeps eight guests so would be perfect for a family getaway or girls' weekend.
