From the mind of Richard Gadd, Netflix's Baby Reindeer has become nothing short of a phenomenon.
This is saying something for a series initially sold as the story of a stalker. But Baby Reindeer is so much more than just a story of one woman, Martha, stalking the protagonist, Donny, as played by creator, Gadd.
The plot, which is based on the comedian's real-life events, has many layers to it, with a new detail to Donny's life and past traumas uncovered with each episode.

It's a heavy series with many upsetting and disturbing moments throughout, but thankfully, this is balanced by a love story that unfolds between Donny and trans woman Teri played by Nava Mau, who many would agree is the breakout star of Baby Reindeer.
Donny and Teri meet just as Martha's stalking is becoming increasingly alarming and despite Teri trying to support Donny through his trauma, they ultimately split as she feels growing resentments toward him and how their relationship has affected her for the worse.
In the seven-part series, the couple don't find any real closure as the only update we get on Teri is seeing she has moved on to a healthier relationship with someone new. But in reality, there was actually a scene that didn't make the final cut that might have offered viewers more of an insight into why Teri ended the relationship.
The actress Nava Mau shared the details of a deleted scene between Teri and Donny in the Netflix show.
"There actually was one more piece of Teri and Donny’s relationship in the script, and I performed it," she told GQ. "Teri leaves Donny a voicemail five months later. So I think, for me, I got closure because Teri did too."
Mau went on to say that even thought the scene was cut from the final series, it gave her a sense of closure for Teri's story. "That’s what gave me so much comfort, knowing that they found peace with regards to their relationship," she said.
"Teri got her happy ending, you know? Teri found a new man, she didn’t lose her friends, she didn’t lose her job, she didn’t lose her smile. She’s good. And I think that is remarkable, because so often we’ve seen stories of trans people that end with them broken."
Sending hopes and prayers that Gadd releases an extended version of Baby Reindeer because we desperately want to see a more satisfying conclusion between Teri and Donny.
