On what has been a very dark day – a picture of light, happiness and joy.
A touching photograph showing a joyful Andrew Chan during his wedding ceremony, has emerged on the same day the convicted drug smuggler was executed in Indonesia.
The death row inmate was snapped, beaming with pride, as he placed wedding ring on the finger of his beloved fiancee, Febyanti Herewi.
Despite the tragic circumstances surrounding their nuptials, and knowing his fate, Chan is shown smiling from ear to ear in the picture.
The marriage was resided over by Chan’s chosen spiritual guide, Salvation Army Pastor David Soper, Channel 9 reported.

It is believed the photograph was taken by an official from the Indonesian attorney general’s office.
The image is perhaps the only one to emerge of Chan, after he was transferred to Nusakambangan prison to await his execution, was carried out in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Chan faced the firing squad, along side fellow Bali Nine ring leader Myuran Sukumaran, and six other people.
