Zoe Hendrix has shared a photo of the "awkward" breastfeeding issue no one talks about.

Married at First Sight’s Zoe Hendrix has shared a photo to Instagram about an unexpected side effect of breastfeeding.

The 27-year-old and her partner Alex, 31, welcomed daughter Harper-Rose in November last year. But on Thursday afternoon, Zoe noticed something different about her body.

“MILK JUGS gone uneven,” she wrote. “One of the many joys of breastfeeding. I wondered why I got a few stares at the pool that day… awkward!”

Of course, there’s nothing awkward about it, especially considering the dozens of comments posted by other mums reassuring the new mum that this is completely normal.

“This is what my boobs are like now forever. But smaller,” wrote one mum, while another said, “I only feed from one so mine are permanently like this!!!”

The Australian Breastfeeding Association state on their website, “many mothers notice that one breast makes more milk than the other and/or that her baby prefers one breast to the other”.

“If you are breastfeeding from one side, you may notice that one breast is larger than the other (because it is making milk), but it is unlikely that anyone else will notice any difference. When your baby has weaned, your breasts will go back to more or less their original (and more equal) size.”

The site does say, however, that “a large difference in breast size between breasts may indicate insufficient glandular tissue“.

It does seem, however, that lots of mums notice a disparity in the size of their breasts when feeding. “This is my life,” wrote one mum on Zoe’s photo. “I breastfed both of my kids for 8 months each off left boob only! Poor old righty never produced any milk!”

It appears Zoe is keen to use her platform on social media to normalise breastfeeding in all its forms – and her latest post definitely goes some way towards achieving that.
