Ariana is auctioning off her virginity to the highest bidder so she can pay her way through uni.

A 20-year-old student is auctioning her virginity in hopes of raising enough money to study overseas.

The Sun reports Ariana from Russia hopes to lose her virginity through a bidding war that begins at at 130,500 pounds or ($221,219 AUD).

The auction is being hosted on an international escort website that lists the young woman beside another in a section devoted to ‘virgins’.

Ariana told The Sun that working to afford education was already a struggle many students faced.

“Many students have the issue that during their studies they have to deal with multiple problems. You have to go to work in order to pay for your education," she said.

“I imagine that living in another country will be very hard, therefore I want to get the financial burden out of the way so I can focus on my medical studies.”

Ariana said the loss of her virginity to a suitor of her own choosing still posed the risk of later heartbreak.

“Why should I lose my virginity to someone who could then break my heart later?”

The 20-year-old describes herself as "independent" and in total control of what she decides to do with her body.

The question of whether her parents knew was raised and the young woman reassured the paper that although they were not aware, she was not afraid to tell them.
