This 31 y/o convinced an entire town she was a high schooler.

A woman in the US has spent nine months attending high school and posing as a 15-year-old, even though she is actually 31 years old.

Charity Anne Johnson is behind bars today, after the family who took her in began to suspect she was much older than she had led them to believe.

KLTV is reporting that a school official said Charity turned up at the school nine months ago with someone who claimed to be her guardian. The ID she provided said her birth date was in 1997, which would put her at 15. She said her name was ‘Charite Stevens’.

A local woman, Tamica Lincoln, even took Charity into her home, after hearing that both of her biological parents had ‘died’.

Lincoln took care of Charity and even attended parent-teacher night at Charity’s school.

“I sympathized with her,” Lincoln told KLTV. “I invited her into my home. I took her in as a child, did her hair, got her clothes and shoes…”

Lincoln actually ended up being the one who raised the alarm after she began to suspect Charity was older than 15, and when she contacted the school they double-checked her ID and realised it was fake.

“Teachers were crying and students were crying, and her best friend just couldn’t believe it,” Lincoln said.

Even after officers arrested her and discovered her real identity and age, Charity continued to insist she was 15-year-old ‘Charite’.

Lincoln has since been contacted by four other women who say Charity did the same thing to them in the past few years.

She remains in prison, waiting for someone to pay her $500 bond.
