Corinne Cinatl was on en route to the hospital to give birth – with her husband and three-year-old son – when her newborn bub decided it was time to enter the world a little earlier than expected.
And so the 29-year-old mother gave birth to Matilda in the front seat of the family car, on the side of the road.
The reason this story is making headlines all over Australia, is that Corinne’s friend – and birth photographer – 28-year-old Breanna Gravener, just happened to be travelling behind them on the road. And so she managed to capture these beautiful photos, which show the first bonding moment between the new mother and her bub.
These pictures are pretty darn remarkable.

Eek this could have been me a few weeks ago! I was pushing in the car on the way to hospital and when the midwife went to check me on arrival (I don't think they believed me that baby was so close as it was my first and I was quite calm), everyone started yelling for my husband to get over there because I was having the baby like, NOW! We had birth photos taken and they are something I will treasure my whole life. Our photographer captured the moment that my partner turned to me and said "IT"S A BOY". These photos are incredible, so amazing she will have these to look back on and remember her craziest car trip ever!!
Been there, caught that. It's an awesome thing to witness.
