I’m a winter girlie at heart. Crisp air? Love it. Winter fashion? Obsessed. Snuggling inside in an oversized fleece robe, with a cup of Milo and a good book? I can’t think of anything better.
But, as much as I adore the winter vibes, I know my skincare game can take a hit if I don’t make the necessary tweaks to my routine.
The combination of cold weather, low humidity and artificial indoor heating can leave skin feeling seriously dry, tight and dull.
Over the years, I’ve learned a thing or two about the dos and don’ts of winter skincare. So, here are some of the things I’ll be doing (and not doing) to keep my skin hydrated, healthy and happy this winter.
1. Cancelling steaming hot showers
There’s nothing quite like a steaming hot shower on a cold winter day. They truly hit different. But, hot showers can strip the skin of its natural oils.
Stripping your skin of natural oils is essentially messing up the way your skin naturally protects itself from the harsh winter elements – a big no. So instead, I’ll be having warm showers (reluctantly) and using Jergens Pure Hydration 24hr Moisturiser to lock in my skin’s hydration.
That brings me to the next thing on my list.
