Before we talk about the winner, let’s share the joy that is Lee Lin Chin representing us on the world stage as she announces Australia’s points in the competition:
Australia gave our DOUZE POINTS to Sweden, which was cool because they also gave us 12 points (they really appreciate all of the cash we spend at Ikea).

And now the winner:
Mans Zelmerlow (which is a fun name to say) from Sweden is the winner of the Eurovision song contest 2015. He won the hearts of Europe (and Australia) with his song ‘Heroes’ (not the David Bowie song. Think one part Maroon 5 and five parts something that Mark Holden might have written for the winner of Australian Idol). Sample lyrics: “We’re the heroes of our times. But we’re dancing with the demons in our minds”.

But let’s be honest, Eurovision is not all about the winner, it is about the weird and wonderful, the catchy and the cringe. Here are just a couple of gooduns from this year.
Let’s start with Guy Sebastian who scored us a TOP 5 finish (take that, Europe!). Guy was channelling a little bit of Bruno Mars with his song Tonight Again, which included the lyrics: “I don’t want tomorrow — oh baby tonight’s so good. Tonight’s so good. This is one tough act to follow — oh baby tonight’s so good.” Oh baby. Anyway, here it is:
