Eyebrow extensions are here to rescue your poor, over-plucked brows.

Hands up if you’re guilty of overplucking your eyebrows on the odd (ahem, every) occasion? All right, hands up if you don’t actually have much to pluck at all, thanks to some keen grooming when barely there hair was the most desirable brow shape?

If you said yes to either (along with half our office!) and don’t have the time or patience to fill them in every day, we have some welcome news for you — an eyebrow grooming revolution could very well be upon us.

Just as eyelash extensions meant no longer having to spend time worrying about lengthening and curling your lashes, eyebrow extensions (yes, they exist) could be the answer to troublesome brows.

To get the brow-down on the treatment, we spoke to owner of Final Touch Brows, Danielle Kurukchi.

What are they?

"Brow extensions are tiny, individual hairs (similar to lash extensions, but obviously not curly!) that are attached to your natural brow hairs or even skin if needed," Kurukchi explains.

"They are applied with a specially-formulated adhesive to create a 3D effect as an alternative to filling in your brows with things like powders, pencils and gels." (Post continues after gallery.)

 Who are they for?

According to Kurukchi, people get eyebrow extensions for all sorts of reasons.

"We get clients who want to cover a scar and needs just five or six extensions as well as those who need a whole brow created of 100 extensions. They're good if you have overtweezed and need some extensions to thicken your brows while your natural hairs grow back or for anyone who wants to change the shape or length of their brows to be made within the correct measurements for their face and bone structure," she says.

The treatment is also popular among people who have lost their hair through chemotherapy or diseases like alopecia.

How long do they last?

"Extensions last up to three weeks but like anything, every client is different," Kurukchi explains.

She says some clients may have extensions that last for seven to 10 days, while others may find they last for two to three weeks. However, you do need to take care when you get home. (Post continues after gallery.)

"You can't wet your brows for the first 24 hours and even after that try to keep them from being saturated in water," she says.

"Also keep shampoos and conditioners away from your brows when you're washing your hair, take care going around your brows when applying makeup and washing your face, and do not sleep on your stomach!"

Do I need to prep?

Nope! Everything is done during the treatment, and there should also be the option to have any tinting or brow shaping done at the same time if you require it.

How often do I get them?

As occasionally or as often as you like.

"We have clients who come in every week as they want their brows looking perfect all the time, then we have clients who only have them done for a special occasion," says Kurukchi.
