Nothing like a good ol’ matrimonial selfie.
We present to you: Liisa Luts.
Future brides: she might have just saved you $4000 (or not, depending on your taste…).
With the average wedding costing a casual $65,000 these days, some brides are getting creative on how to cut their costs.
Like Liisa, who photographed her own wedding, selfie-style.
Liisa, 29, married her partner one month ago in their home town of Tallinn, Estonia. Liisa saved a potential cost of $4000 per wedding photographer (do Estonian photographers cost the same as Aussie photographers? Hmmmm. Let’s say yes.) and captured their day on her Fujifilm X-T10.
From the moment she woke to see her ginger-haired cat looking up outside, to the moment she fell asleep next to her new husband, Liisa selfied and selfied and selfied. (Well, actually, she took a lot of photos of her arms pointing at stuff. Still cool.)
The images are through her eyes, and as authentic as it gets. Which is exactly what Liisa was going for.
“Everything about our day was very laid back and comfortable, also we didn’t feel the need for the professional wedding photography. We just wanted to make it legal, celebrate a bit to go with the flow,” Liisa told PetaPixel.
“I just felt that I want something different, not those posed beauty shots and not that post-processed photo gallery… I just wanted something more ‘us’ and therefore more authentic.”
For Liisa’s photographs of the day, scroll through. The last photo of the day made us a little bit teary. (Post continues after gallery.)

But it’s okay, wedding photographers. Liisa’s got your back.
“I understand that marriage/wedding day might have a quite different meaning in various countries and for [different] people. My aim isn’t to prove any point or to tell people not to hire or fire wedding photographers, certainly not!”
“I think that everyone should make their own decisions whether to get married at all, how to celebrate that day if they do, and all other aspects in life, too.”

It's all quite 'Hipster', isn't it? Good for them for doing something different. I hope someone else got some pics as well, of the ceremony or her and her husband together without a camera in the shot too. I do love the picture of the little kids touching her dress, how adorable!
Her "photography" is terrible, including those on her blog. Clever way to try and promote herself, but the poor quality is hardly positive advertising for their 'business'.
