'My wife and I created a 24/7 sex game that completely saved our relationship.'

While monogamous marriages continue to prevail as the most common way couples categorise their relationships, the need to keep things interesting both inside and outside the bedroom naturally deepens.

A couple from the US have recognised this, and one half of the couple (knows as user Mr. Easyweeks) took to Reddit to share with other users what he has labelled their “24/7 sex game” that keeps their relationship “spontaneous”.

To give a little bit of context, Easyweeks explains that he and his wife have been together for five years and married for about three of them. Additionally, they have been living together since before they even started dating.

Essentially, he says, the game is all built around hidden Post-It notes that are carefully placed throughout the house the duo share, or their individual belongings. Each person has their own colour of Post-It note they use, and they are able to hide them wherever they please. On those notes exist carefully curated instructions, or demands, that are written entirely to keep their sexual encounters spontaneous.

"If the other finds a note that's on your coloured paper, they have to do whatever your note says," Easyweeks explains.

"The notes are small and folded in a way that they can't be read from the outside, and they're sealed with double-sided tape. There's no way to read the content without damaging the note. The notes sometimes have things that have to be done immediately, and sometimes things that have a time or condition."

Is monogamy dead? The Prude and the Pornstar discuss. Post continues after audio.

The rules, he says, are fairly straight forward.

Firstly, if you find a note, you must open it straight away. Secondly, instructions have to be fair. And thirdly, there can only ever be a maximum of 20 notes hidden at one time. Sound confusing? Easyweeks explains.

"We each started with 10 notes hidden throughout our lives. Once I find a note of hers, I'm allowed to put another one out into the world. At that point, she has 9 hidden and I have 11. This way, the notes self-balance. The more she finds of mine, the less of mine there are and the more of hers."

One of the best parts of the game, Easyweeks believes, is that they never know when the other person will find their note.

"We can hide them in places that are obvious and short-term like in a wallet or under the toothpaste. We can also hide them in places that we know are going to take a while to find, like in the wrong month of a wall calendar or in the battery compartment of a remote control. A lot of times we've forgotten we even asked for what's happening until we're pleasantly (very) surprised," he wrote.

Whether it be actual sexual acts either must perform immediately, or decidedly sexier things that will keep the relationship exciting, Easyweeks believes the demands mean the game "never gets old".

"Over time the notes have gotten more creative, but we've also reused plenty of them," he says.

And as for whether some rogue notes might be intercepted by an outside party? Easyweeks says it's happened, but it's not an issue.

"A couple times people have found one at our house, but they just ask 'what's this?' and we say ah must be trash from something'. I feel like no one would just go opening a piece of scrap paper that was clearly taped shut," he wrote.
