There are two major changes to the system this year, with the voting closing much earlier than usual – it will be closing on Decemeber 18.

Also, Most Oustanding Factual Program or Documentary has been added to the list, making a record number of 27 categories.

People are yet to find out who has been nominated for the top Gold Logie, but the categories for Best Drama and Best Reality Shows has announced their categories.

Vying for Best Reality show includes Australia’s Next Top Model, Australian Survivor, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here, The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and the show that never leaves our screens, The Block.

As for the Best Drama, ABC’s addicting Barracuda is competing against other shows, such as Cleverman, Here Come the Habibs, Janet King, Home and Away, Love Child, The Secret Daughter, The Wrong Girl, Neighbours, and Offspring.

Listen to our full debrief on The Wrong Girl season finale. (Post continues after audio.)

Meanwhile, stars have already announced who they are packing to be picked for the top prize.

Talking to the Herald Sun, co-host of The Project and Gold Logie winner, Carrie Bickmore is hopeful her colleague, Peter Helliar will be nominated.

“It’s hard to believe Pete has never been nominated for the Gold Logie. I’ve worked alongside Pete for over 10 years and he is an absolute legend. He is funny, generous, smart and has incredible timing. He would make a great Gold Logie winner,” she said.

“I feel sorry for whoever has to follow Waleed’s speech from last year but you know what, if anyone could do it Pete’s your guy. It would be funny and very memorable I am sure.”

Radio host, Rove McManus, has also backed Helliar but he would be up against some fierce competition.

Many are thinking Today co-host Lisa Wilkinson will be nominated, along with Jessica Marais, and Marta Dusseldorp.

You can head to this website to vote for your favourite star or show.

Frankly, I can't believe anyone really cares. It's a given that someone who will use their acceptance speech to push their own political barrow will win. Australian of the Year has gone the same way. I know the bulk of the population will disagree with me but the reason I don't care is because no politician or media personality will ever make me succumb to the 'bread and circuses' that most others seem to be content with.
