It was described as “quirky, stylish and smooth”, but it seems like this is one hair trend that won’t be catching on.
A video demonstrating the erm, unusual, ‘do has been viewed over six million times since it was shared by haircut sharing app BarberShapp since it was uploaded just days ago. But it’s attracting attention for all the wrong reasons. (Post continues after video.)
Quirky, Stylish and Smooth? Is this a new trend in the making? #StylistLove #ScissorsCut #HairCut

All we can think about? That poor, poor model.
Perhaps inspired by the peeling of a potato, outer space or a bowl cut gone very, very wrong, the style involves cutting deep, layered circles near the roots of the hair, leaving a few long strands out the front and teasing the little long hair that is left.
Guys, this is farshun, OK?
"I think I can safely speak on behalf of the nation by saying that this is most definitely NOT going to be a trend. I have no other words," commented Stacey Barnes, garnering a casual 17,000 likes.
The only explanation we've been able to track down? Just as couture can often verge on the ridiculous, so too can haircuts when they're designed for runways as this one hopefully probably was.
"It's a double cut, looks great in shows but looks terrible on the average public doing their daily thing," commented hairdresser Gemma Rose Smith.
We'll pass, thanks.
