It’s the footage causing parents’ hearts to skip a beat the world over.

A child’s pram sits stationary at a train station — and suddenly, it’s mysteriously spirited across the platform and onto the train tracks, moments before a train is due.

The infant’s horrified parents realise what’s happened, and the mother leaps onto the tracks to stage a brave rescue effort.

The footage, captured at a London Tube station on 23 July, was released yesterday by British Transport Police.

They say the frightening incident took place just after a train had left the platform, when wind caught hold of the pram.

Chief Inspector Mark Lawrie said police were seeking to identify the parents and ‘ensure the child wasn’t injured’ during the incident.

“This was a frightening incident, not just for the scale of the danger the child was exposed to, but also because the woman then put her own life on the line by going onto the tracks,” he said.

“I have taken the step of releasing CCTV of the people involved to highlight the very real concern we have for all involved.”
