A UK woman was horrified to receive a sympathy card and ultrasound pictures of the baby she had terminated – from the clinic where she had her abortion.
Nicky Windsor, 29, from Yorkshire, received the photos and card in the mail after having the procedure in June at at Conifer House clinic. She received the mail after complaining to the clinic that she was not offered the choice of a single instead of a mass burial for the foetus.
Ms Windsor has not shared the reason for the abortion.
The card which accompanied the photos read, "Nicki, hope this gives you some comfort." But Ms Windsor said the photos were "sick".
She told The Daily Mail, "I've never known anything like it. What were they trying to do to me? Why on earth would I want scan pictures. Going through a procedure like that is traumatic enough so to have it all brought back to me in the way that they did was absolutely shocking."
"When I first got the card I thought it was a nice gesture but when I opened it up and saw two baby scans it absolutely shattered me. It was just an awful feeling. It felt as if I had to go through the loss all over again," she continued.
A representative from the clinic has apologised and is investigating the incident.
