The one place we'd never expect to see a wedding ceremony.

Perth couple Megan Grant and Michael Hayward already had their wedding reception picked out. What they were stuck on was where they would hold the ceremony.

The duo had been planning on using the train for transport and with concerns it might rain, they decided to cut out a step and say ‘I do’ on a metro train carriage.

Talk about different.

Grant and Hayward invited their 30 guests to meet them at the Fremantle train station in Western Australia. But little did they know, that's exactly where the ceremony would take place.

"We said on the invitation: Megan and Michael are getting married, come to a party to celebrate. So I think they thought it was an engagement party," Hayward told ABC News.

"My number one stress was that someone would miss the train, so we told them a time 15 minutes earlier," she explained.

But how did the train passengers react? According to Hayward, "They were taking pictures and looking surprised."

We'd be pretty surprised too.
