I thought politicians were meant to “feed the chooks”, not impersonate them.
So yesterday in question time this happened:
And thank god Labor MP Tony Burke had the good sense to tweet it, is all I can say. It’s certainly not the first time I’ve preferred watching parliament on mute (politicians, amirite?), but in this case I feel like the silence really lets the imagination run wild. What exactly was Tony Abbott saying at the moment that he flapped his arms like a prep student doing The Chicken Dance (and nailing it)? Does it even matter? Many have speculated:
We may never know the answer, but we’ll always have the memories.
Plus a little bit of this.
And a little bit of that.
Etc.
More great moments from our nation’s leader:
Tony Abbott ate a whole onion.
Tony Abbott makes a St Patrick’s Day video. Manages to offend almost everyone.
The one where Leigh Sales schools Tony Abbott in the Westminster system.
