1. Australia’s soulmate, Timm, shares what he learned from being dumped on The Bachelorette.

When Timm Hanly was dumped by Angie Kent on The Bachelorette, Australia’s collective heart broke.

The contestant, known for his funny antics and luscious man bun, took the news relatively well considering Kent also told him he was her “soulmate” before rejecting him.

Now, the 27-year-old fireproofer has reflected on his time on the Channel 10 reality TV show, telling his over 100,000 Instagram followers, “love is not smooth sailing.”

“Love takes constant learning and sometimes pain and hurt which turns into strength and growth,” Timm wrote. “Love is vulnerable and risky, but love is so f***ing exciting and that is what I learnt from this crazy ride.”

He continued: “At the end of the day happiness is all that matters, no matter where or in who you find it.

We couldn’t love him more. He’s not just funny, he’s wise too.

“Can’t thank everyone enough for the overwhelming support and kind words and all I can say is no matter how weird you are always walk to the the beat of your own drum and make your mum proud.”

Luckily for us, fans are petitioning for the runner-up to be the 2020 Bachelor and excuse us, WHERE DO WE SIGN UP TO BE A CONTESTANT?

2. “It makes me sick”: Selena Gomez stands up for Taylor Swift amid stoush with her former label. (But they claim Tay Tay owes them millions.)

Selena Gomez has defended her best friend Taylor Swift, who is currently in a public feud with her old record label Big Machine Records.

Earlier this year, Swift learned that her long-time manager, Scott Borchetta, who she parted ways with in 2018 after 12 years, sold his label Big Machine Records to Scooter Braun, the controversial manager of Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato. She was unhappy, because the deal refused her the property rights for her own music.

On Friday, Swift posted to social media a statement that read in part: "Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun have now said that I’m not allowed to perform my old songs on television because they claim that would be re-recording my music before I’m allowed to next year."

Selena Gomez has since posted to her Instagram stories, defending her best friend, saying, "My heart is so heavy right now.

"It makes me sick and extremely angry. (I don’t mind if there may be retaliation) this is my opinion. It’s greed, manipulation, and power. There is no heart or thought of anyone else. No respect for the words my friend has written since she was a 14-year-old in her bedroom.

"You’ve robbed and crushed one of our best song writers of our time an opportunity to celebrate all of her music with her fans and the world," Gomez continued.

However Machine Records has denied Swift's claims in a stunning statement.

"As Taylor Swift’s partner for over a decade, we were shocked to see her tumblr statements yesterday based on false information... We do not have the right to keep her from performing live anywhere. Since Taylor’s decision to leave Big Machine last fall, we have continued to honour all of her requests to license her catalog to third parties as she promotes her current record in which we do not financially participate.

"The truth is, Taylor has admitted to contractually owing millions of dollars and multiple assets to our company, which is responsible for 120 hardworking employees who helped build her career.

"Taylor, the narrative you have created does not exist. All we ask is to have a direct and honest conversation. When that happens, you will see there is nothing but respect, kindness and support waiting for you on the other side."

3. “Massive flop”: Hundreds of fans walked out of Janet Jackson’s Perth concert.

Janet Jackson is currently headlining national tour, RNB Fridays, alongside The Black Eyed Peas, 50 Cent and many more.

But despite high hopes for the concert series, hundreds of fans walked out of the concert on Friday night after Jackson performed only two of her songs.

With various reviews and social posts written post-performance, some have stated that Jackson's show was lacking energy, while others even claimed she lip-synced. There were apparently also multiple audio and visual issues.

During the week the pair have been spotted holding hands while grocery shopping in upstate New York.

Whilst this may not seem like a lot of evidence, with Pete's track record of moving very quickly (you'll recall he was engaged to Ariana Grande after just a few weeks of dating), who knows how serious it could be a week from now.

And it clearly must be official, as people have already given them a couple name - Paia. How... sweet.

5. Essena O'Neill made headlines when she quit social media in 2015. Now, she wants it all back.

In 2015, Essena O’Neill, a then 19-year-old influencer from Queensland, famously reprimanded the artificial reality of her own ‘influencing’ and quit social media.

O’Neill had amassed a loyal following of 800,000 before she changed her username to “Social Media Is Not Real Life” and made a 17-minute-long YouTube video where she tearfully admitted she had formed an unhealthy addiction to her own Instagram likes.

It made worldwide news. Even The New York Times wrote about the Australian teenager who resigned from social media.

It has been four years now since the saga, so… where is Essena O’Neill now?

The former influencer has resurfaced online this week, speaking to YouTuber Tiffany Ferguson in a 30-minute interview uploaded on Friday.

In an unexpected revelation, O’Neill says she has returned to Instagram and wants the followers back.

“I think as much as I can critique myself, there was something so special about what I had online and I just want it again,” she said.

“You don’t know what it’s like to have people who actually listen to you, who actually want to read every word you write, who actually take the time to say, ‘Wow, I loved your opinion.'”
