Tim Robards speaks about Ali Oetjen, five years after the Bachelor's first season.

Ahead of Ali Oetjen’s finale episode of The Bachelorette tonight, her ex-love interest Tim Robards has shared his thoughts on her season.

The 36-year-old broke Ali’s heart during the inaugural season of the Bachelor in 2013, going on to choose his now-wife Anna Heinrich as the winner.

But he’s still got a soft spot for the real estate agent turned fitness influencer.

Tim told the Daily Mail he thought the 32-year-old was “completely genuine” in her quest for love.

“I think she genuinely wants a relationship and is on the show for the right reasons,” the Neighbours actor said (proving that five years on, he’s still speaking in Bach-isms).

The fitness business owner said he and Anna have been watching The Bachelorette this year, but only “occasionally”.

They will, however, “definitely” be watching the finale tonight, where Ali will decide between Taite Radley, 28, and Todd King, 26.

And how could Tim not support the franchise that helped him find Anna, whom he wed in a (by all accounts, fairy tale) ceremony in Italy in June?

“I found the love of my life on The Bachelor,” he told the Daily Mail.

He also confirmed he and Anna have moved into their $1.9 million apartment in Sydney’s harbourside suburb of Rose Bay.

It’s unclear if Ali will be so lucky in finding lasting love on the show – and this is where you should stop reading to avoid potential spoilers.

Still here? Okay.

Photographs that appear to be of Taite and Todd sitting together at Fiji’s Nadi airport have been published by New Idea this week.

Fiji is, of course, the destination for Bachelor In Paradise – and if the two men are in fact Taite and Todd (Taite’s more visible than Todd) then that would suggest that either Ali: a) pulls a Nick Cummins and picks no one, or b) has already broken up with the winner.
Or c) – and oh, dear God, we don’t want it to be c) – Ali chooses a man and he rejects her in the finale.

But then again, maybe that man at Nadi airport wasn’t Todd and he and Ali are already living their happily ever after.

Just like Tim, we’ll be watching tonight to find out.
