Trying to explain to someone Netflix’s new documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness is… difficult.
It’s hard to accurately sum up just how crazy the seven-episode series is, but given the current climate, the most apt description I can give is: Tiger King is probably the only show right now that is still more insane than the outside world.
Given that whole global pandemic, self-isolation thing… Yeah, that’s saying a lot.

A very quick rundown: It follows the story of Joe Exotic, who operated a big cat zoo in Oklahoma, and a few other ‘exotic animal enthusiasts’ around the United States.
Over seven episodes, co-directors Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin show these people’s truly bizarre lives in a story that includes murder-for-hire, polygamy, a cult, a mysterious disappearance, heavy drug use and exploitation of animals and humans.

I've just started watching this and I'm lost for words but I can't look away!
This show is absolutely batshit crazy, and we're barely on the second episode. My husband and I have spent the whole first episode saying "wtf?" non-stop. How are these people real? I mean, the guy sells sex gel in the zoo gift shop, and that's not even close to being the weirdest thing about him. (And that's definitely not him singing on those albums, right?)
ETA: I think I can guess who everyone's dressing as for Halloween this year!
