The mystery of who bit Beyonce on the face has been solved. And it's worse than we imagined.

We can all breathe a collective sigh of relief.

The biggest celebrity mystery of the year has finally been solved.

Comedian Tiffany Haddish has reportedly confirmed it was actress Sanaa Lathan who bit Beyonce on the face at a party in December last year.

After the Girls Trip actress told GQ in March that she witnessed “an actress” bite Bey on the face, Lanthan was regularly named as a potential suspect – but she continued to deny her involvement.

Although Haddish was reportedly made to sign a nondisclosure agreement on the biting incident, she has since suggested that Lanthan really is the one to blame.

In a new interview published this week with The Hollywood Reporter, Haddish said, “I’m super good friends with [Lathan’s] stepmum and her dad (producer-director Stan Lathan), and they were mad at me.”

“They were like, ‘Why would you do this to the family? You know, black actresses, you guys have to stick together, it’s so hard for you guys to get work as it is, why would you try to ruin her career?’ But I didn’t try to ruin her career. I never said her name! I was just trying to say how Beyonce kept me from goin’ to jail that night. I coulda just shut my whole career down,” she added.

Lathan, who appeared in Love & Basketball and Nip/Tuck pleaded her innocence in an interview with Health magazine last month, saying, “I think it’s the most absurd thing I’ve ever been involved with”.

She also addressed the rumours on Twitter at the time:

On the night of the incident, Haddish met Beyonce at the bar after Beyonce stormed off after being bitten.

“Beyoncé’s at the bar, so I said to Beyoncé, ‘Did she really bite you?’ She was like, ‘Yeah.’ I was like, ‘She gonna get her ass beat tonight,'” Haddish told GQ.

But Beyonce told Haddish to avoid going after Lathan.

“She was like, ‘Tiffany, no. Don’t do that. That bitch is on drugs. She not even drunk. The bitch is on drugs. She not like that all the time. Just chill.'”
