The other week we had an illuminating guest post from Kate Hunter about what really goes on behind the scenes in advertising. And it got everyone talking very animatedly about ads they love and loathe. So what about this one from McDonalds?
You won’t see it on TV here because it’s for McDonalds in France. As a spokesperson explains: “The ad… recognizes the diversity of the McDonald’s customers in France.”

I like it. Very much. I like that it challenges preconceptions about sexuality and gives me a glimpse into what must be a private moment for many closeted gay people, particularly teens.

I think it's sad that McDonalds Australia think that it doesn't apply to their target market. Silly us, thinking there are gay people in Australia?
I had no idea McDonalds had trouble capturing the gay market.
