Baby showers: they’re not just something women have to suffer through. Men get to as well.
But apparently not everybody knows that it is an occasion for BOTH sexes.
At least certainly not the boss of this male army specialist, claiming he submitted a leave request to go to a baby shower only to be swiftly denied. In capital letters. And red ink.
The pregnancy questions you were too afraid to ask. Post continues after video…
The soldier posted photos online showing his submission to take leave for a baby shower.
His commanding officer crossed out baby shower and eloquently wrote “MEN DON’T GO TO BABY SHOWERS” before returning the form.
So the soldier amended his request with a more ~macho~ touch.
"Going home to the Appalachian mountains to drink whiskey, wrestle bears, and shoot lots of guns. I also plan to grow out a beard, chop down a hundred trees with my axe and eat 10lbs of thick cut bacon with my wife, whom I plan to have lots of unprotected sex with, because I am a man and that's just what we do. Football."
No word on whether his more rugged approach worked, but we love his tongue-in-cheek attitude.
Football.

Seriously - asking for leave to attend a minor party would be scrutinised in any workplace. It doesn't even say if this is his own child's baby shower. Maybe the returned form with the red pen was also tongue in cheek but as usual, conclusions are drawn without knowing the facts.
It's a JOKE. You can take your rec leave for whatever you want - there's still usually a box you can fill out for the reason.
Is that right? And you know this ... How exactly ? - and if you can take leave for any reason - why the space to explain?
Love it!!
